2020 Campaign Chair message

This pandemic has created many shifts in how we interact and come together as community, placing a great deal of emphasis on engagement in digital spaces. I am pleased to say that our Royal Roads United Way team is working extremely hard to ensure our workplace campaign continues strong as we Rally for Recovery with our virtual campaign.

It’s my pleasure and privilege to serve as campaign chair for 2020 and I need YOU to join me as we continue RRU’s long history of showing love and support for Greater Victoria through its workplace campaign. The current times we are facing underscore the importance of this work. I invite you to make your donation today!

The United Way of Greater Victoria is a registered charity that develops awareness, raises funds, and creates connections between people and resources to help address a range of social issues within our community and respond to unforeseen circumstances like this pandemic. Making a pledge to the campaign is very easy! Show Your Local Love and donate right now through the online pledge form.

You can also participate in YOUR favourite events from the past, including the: Duck Race; Online Auction; and RRU Art Show. As is tradition, we will hold several “thank you for giving” draws throughout the campaign.  Make your pledge and you automatically qualify for the draws.  YOU can win:

  • a day off with pay;
  • free parking for a year; or
  • one of seven $50.00 gift certificates to a retailer of choice.

I invite your support, no matter how small (every penny counts). YOU can help us meet our goals:

  • Financial goal – raise $56,000.00 (we met this goal last year);
  • Donor goal – 100% of staff and faculty to donate (let’s make this happen!); and
  • Cumulative goal – raise $1,000,000 (we are very close, dating back to when we started this work).

 If you have any questions, please contact the RRU United Way Committee. THANK YOU for all you do and give!

Sincerely,

Sophia Palahicky, EdD
